Afroil Investment Limited an oil marketing company based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania fully licensed and incorporated on 23rd October 2008 is currently looking for dynamic result oriented individual to fill the following position.

Job Title:FleetMaintenance Planner. (1 Post)

Reports to: General Manager.

Department: Operations.

Duty Station: Dar Es Salaam.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to ensure availability and reliability of all company fleet.  Organize the fleet master data and update next service period, fuel consumption, maintenance cost, tire status and vehicle custodian.

Duties and   Responsibilities.

Perform Planning function 

 

  • Creates complex and integrated work plans to achieve maintenance and service objectives, incorporating elements including routine servicing, preventative maintenance, major and minor repairs and overhauls of the company fleet.
  • Develop maintenance management planning systems, historical records, and other data to forecast labor, materials and supplies and other resource requirements.
  •  Identifies resource constraints and develops plan priority and schedule adjustments on the basis of the analysis.
  • Responsible for initial scanning of incoming maintenance notification, identification of scope and analysis required level of planning.

·         Planning and scheduling efficient and effective truck maintenance activities and resources

·         Provide truck capability, reliability and availability to Operations through application of the maintenance service for the greatest operating profit

·         Manage maintenance and repair of the truck to ensure proper functioning

·         Manage SAP maintenance data collection and information gathering

·         Analyse SAP data to learn how to improve service delivery

·         Manage tyres (replacement, cost)

·         Implement vehicle replacement programme

 

 

 

 

Perform supervisory role

  • Consults with garage supervisors, mechanics, facility managers, and others to coordinate plans related to management.
  • Responsible to control the maintenance budget.
  • Estimate required hours on work order tasks, total work order duration and skill required to perform the task and measure the supplier performance accordingly

 

 Promote safety

  • Plan and execute safety training.
  • Abide by rules and regulation of traffic during driving.
  • Wise and communicable to employees when providing service.

 

 Perform administrative work.

  • Generate the required report on timely bases.
  • Give proper and timely response, whenever there is a request
  • Create PQ on the system for maintenance
  • Follow the vehicle condition strictly, and do not allow to drive when any failure which leads to accident is observed to minimize the risk.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualification& Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field.

·         Minimum of 2 -4 years’ experience in Transportation industry.

·         Experience with Fleet Maintenance knowledge.

·          Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

·         Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information

·         Computer knowledge e.g.  MS Excel, Word, internet and Usage of various software packages.

·         At least 4 years in professional driving.
