On behalf of the Veterinary Training Colleges Agency (LITA) the Secretary of the Secretariat for Employment in the Public Service invites job applications from qualified and capable Tanzanians to fill Five (5) vacancies as outlined in this announcement.

1.0. LIVESTOCK TRAINING COLLEGE AGENCY (LITTER)

It is an Institution under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. LITA was established through Government Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997 and its amendments in 2007. LITA was established on September 1, 2011 and published in the Government Gazette through Notice No. 355 of 2011. The purpose of its establishment is to provide training in Livestock at Diploma and Diploma level, production of livestock products, conducting research and providing consulting services.

1.0.1 TRAINER II (VETERINARY) - (POSITION 4)

1.0.2 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Interpreting curricula and teaching NTA Levels 4-6,

ii. Compose and manage Examination and and end-of-term examinations,

iii. Preparing "Training materials" and learning resources "and providing them with students,

iv. Supervising and assisting assistant trainers,

v. Managing practical training in college and field,

vi. Identify the needs of students with special needs and support them,

vii. Provide training and advice to pastoralists and other stakeholders in the livestock sector,

viii. Organizing and supervising student academic debates,

ix. Conduct research and provide professional advice to other stakeholders and;

x. Perform other duties assigned to them by the officials.

1.0.3 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Science from Sokoine Agricultural University (SUA) or another Government recognized and registered Veterinary Council of Tanzania (VTC). Must have passed at least an average of B marks in all his subjects.

1.0.4 SALARY

Salary level: PTSS 11

2.0. STUDENT II (AGRO - MECHANIZATION) - (POSITION 1)

2.0.1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Interpreting curricula and teaching NTA Levels 4-6,

ii. Compose and manage Examination and and end-of-term examinations,

iii. Preparing "Training materials" and learning resources "and providing them with students,

iv. Supervising and assisting assistant trainers,

v. Managing practical training in college and field,

vi. Identify the needs of students with special needs and support them,

vii. Provide training and advice to pastoralists and other stakeholders in the livestock sector,

viii. Organizing and supervising student academic debates,

ix. Conduct research and provide professional advice to other stakeholders and;

x. Perform other duties assigned to them by the officials.

2.0.2. . QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

Should he have a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) or another State-recognized University and be registered with his Academic Board. Have a pass rate of at least a second grade (Upper Second) from GPA 3.5 onwards.

2.0.3. SALARY

Salary level: PTSS 10

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL WORKS.

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens and not older than 45 years.

ii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate.

vii. Applicants who have studied outside Tanzania should ensure that their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE).

viii. Applicants cleared in the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have the approval of the Principal Secretary.

ix. Applicants who are already employees in the vacancies in the Public Service should not apply and are required to comply with the instructions contained in Document And CAC. 45/257/01 / D / 140 dated November 30, 2010.
